While all you fake nerds are pining over the new Nintendo footage, i’m down in the trenches of the Indie Scene where the real games are at. At least that’s what i tell myself so that i don’t have to admit that i need some time for the hype to wear off. Okay, on to the topic at hand:
I really like this idea. While i usually think people who are “Has-Beens” need to hurry up and become “once-were”s, the idea of playing as a group of aging hero’s who just want to pull off that one last adventure is rather intriguing to me. Plus the UI reminded me a lot of Darkest Dungeon, and i fucking loved Darkest Dungeon. The one thing that really has me interested is how the game will handle leveling and progression. The cast are both past their prime, but still fit for combat, so i wonder if the game will imploy a Darkest Dungeon style aliment system where heroes will get de-buffs based on their age or past adventures. Like, how cool would it be for an old wizard to get dementia and not be able to use certain spells anymore? There’s a lot that can be done with this set up, and i’m excited to see where the dev team takes it.
